PAYROLL SPECIALIST – St. Basil Catholic Education Centre

 

The Holy Spirit Catholic Board of Education requires a Payroll Specialist to commence as soon as possible at the St. Basil Catholic Education Centre.

 

Reporting to the Secretary Treasurer, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll preparation of all non-teaching staff within the school division. The candidate will also perform accounting and year end duties as they relate to payroll.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years payroll experience, preferably in an educational environment
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through the Canadian Payroll Association or equivalent education and training and combination of work experience
  • Thorough knowledge of employment standards
  • Knowledge of related government legislation
  • Knowledge and experience administering employee pension and benefit plans
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, under pressure and with deadlines
  • Strong computer skills.
