Sports Performance 15 – 5 credits

Do you enjoy working out and learning about conditioning your body? Sports performance is designed for students who have a passion for improving their athleticism and increasing their knowledge about athletic training. Students will learn and engage in strength, agility, flexibility, speed, and power training. Other units of studies include sport nutrition, sport psychology, and injury prevention. The goal of this class is to expand your knowledge about sports training and improve your personal performance.

Students will workout everyday and are required to change into gym strip for non classroom activities.  Students will also require a three ring binder, pencil or pen, and a water bottle.

Sports Performance 25 – 5 credits

Prerequisite: Sports Performance 15

If you enjoyed Sports Performance 15, this is the next class in the sports performance series. Students will further learn and engage in strength, agility, flexibility, speed, and power training. Students will learn further how their body will react to heart rate training and analysis their nutrition. We investigate various issues in sport and also how technology has changed sport. In our sport psychology unit we will investigate focus of the athlete and energy management. The goal of this class is to build our knowledge and training base from Sport Performance 15.

Students will be required to have a three ring binder, pencil or pen, daily gym strip, and a water bottle.

Sports Performance 35 – 5 credits

Prerequisite: Sports Performance 25

This course will be aimed at assisting students in understanding themselves and the fitness training around the sport they compete in. Sports Performance 35 will touch on sport psychology, temperature stress, nutrition breakdown, workout design for yourself, agility and power program design, muscle physiology, history of sport, and planning in regards to coaching.

Students will be required to have a three ring binder, pencil or pen, daily gym strip, and a water bottle.
