Nomination papers are due:
September 18, 2017 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
at the City of Lethbridge Clerk's office.
Nomination forms for all Wards may be obtained at the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division office (620 12B Street N., Lethbridge). Nomination forms for Ward 2 can also be obtained at the City Clerk's Office (2nd Floor, 910 4 Avenue S., Lethbridge).
Election Day is October 16, 2017.
Elections are held every 4 years in conjunction with Municipal elections. Candidates are governed by the Local Authorities Election Act.
The Catholic School Trustee has a unique vocation to bring together faith and political life, and to share in the central mission of the Church - passing our Catholic faith on to our children. Trustees are responsible for:
- Receiving and disseminating information. In order to make clear decisions they must keep up to date on education matters, analyze the data they receive, and communicate clearly.
- Serving as role models who ‘walk the walk' and ‘talk the talk' both in and out of the boardroom. A Christian lifestyle and a personal commitment to the Catholic faith is essential.
- Developing policies and priorities that guide administration in achieving division goals, while taking into consideration the desires of the community, as well as the financial and human resources available.
