In the ten schools that house Division I classes (Kindergarten - Grade 3), an Early Literacy Program complements the regular classroom teacher’s Language Arts program.  Students selected to participate in the Early Literacy Program are those in need of additional assistance, which leads to improved reading & comprehension levels.  Our Early Literacy teachers use this additional time to work on many phonetic concepts and the basics in reading.  A wide variety of resources and strategies are used to provide our students with a solid reading foundation.

With every new school year comes changes to the curriculum and programs. These changes, as directed by Alberta Learning, are implemented and supported throughout the Division.  The students of Holy Spirit Catholic Schools are very fortunate to receive daily instruction by dedicated teachers and administrators, who strive to stay on the cutting edge of education. 

Teachers are continuously working to improve the delivery of their programs and are involved in continuing professional development activities. Our students, as a result, receive an education that reflects the latest in teaching strategies, resources and technology.
