We recognize the importance of fine arts in providing a balanced education, and students at St. Francis continue to be engaged in a wide range of fine arts programming, including:

drama for grades 7, 8, and 9 (all grade 7 students take drama 7 for 1 round of their complementary programming, and may take the full course as well)

choral for grades 7, 8, and 9

band for grades 7, 8, and 9

strings for grades 8 and 9

art for grades 7, 8, and 9

All of our fine arts programs include theory and performance/display, and students see their work showcased numerous times throughout the school year, including religious celebrations, our annual St. Francis Showcase in September, a Christmas performance/concert/art gallery in December, and numerous touring opportunities to our feeder schools and other community groups. Traditionally, a group of band students also travels for workshops and/or performances.

Theatre Calgary - all students are eligible to purchase a bundle of Theatre Calgary tickets, which include bus transportation, a lunch meal and the show ticket. Show dates are provided early on in the school year, and ticket bundles are available until our alotment is sold out. Please contact Mr. Dino Caputo at school with any questions.
