Native American Studies 7:

This course is a complementary course which will be offered to the grade 7 students on a rotating schedule, starting with 7C. A course outline has been given to all of the students explaing areas that we will cover throughout the quarter. The intent of the course is to provide a conceptual framework for all learners to enhance understanding of the diverse Aboriginal cultures of their region, Canada and the world. Students will gain an understanding and appreciation for the importance placed on balance within ones life, respect for nature and the involvement and appreciation for family, which all play large roles in Aboriginal cultures around the world.

Students will be given reflective assignments each Friday.

Physical Education 8:

For the first term we will be focusing on the following physical activities:

Cross country running, ladder ball, bocce ball, football, lacrosee and volleyball

Physical Education 9:

For the first term we will be focusing on the following ohysical activities:

Cross country running, ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, football, lacrosse and volleyball

All Phys Ed students have been given a schedule and course outline. The last page of that handout is a sheet that must be signed by parents or guardians, and returned to their teacher by Friday September 7, 2012.
