In Grade Five Math we have knowledge quizzes approximately once per month.The quizzes are used to check where students are in their knowledge (particularly math facts) and so that students can work at goals to master this knowledge.
For the Grade Fives a homework assignment will be sent home once a week. They are due on Tuesdays. The homework assignments are excellent practise in preparation for the tests. (Homework assignments begin in October, after we have begun work in numeration.)

Process skills are used with the content to complete the learning. An important learning in the process skills is using fair test design for experiments. Fair test design is incorporated in all of the units.
