Mrs. Downie grew up in a small town in Alberta, and knew from her time at Hardisty Elementary that she'd like to become just like her Grade 2 teacher, whom she loved.  In school she enjoyed Math class and she still finds it is her favourite subject to teach.  Mrs. Downie has taught for 25 years in schools in Saskatchewan and Alberta - Southend, Fort Saskatchewan, Pincher Creek, and Lethbridge.  Mrs. Downie's students know she is fair and that she loves each one of them.   She prays that all her students past, present, and future will have a relationship with God so that they might be the best they can be and know they are precious & loved.  Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Downie will be found swimming, walking her dog, backpacking, and spending time with family and friends.  She truly shares God's light and love as she meets each new day and new visitor as a friend.
