Opened in September 1914, and blessed by Bishop McNally on November 29, 2014, St. Basil School served the North side residents of Lethbridge under the direction of the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ). Mr. Emil Vaselenak was the longest serving principal of the school from 1932 until 1970; which is why many alumni refer to the school as "Vasey's School." To avoid the closure of this historic building, St. Basil was renovated in 2004, and now serves as the Board office for the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate Regional Division No. 4.
