DIRECTOR OF LEARNING - St. Basil Catholic Education Centre

The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division consists of 15 schools located in Bow Island, Coaldale, Lethbridge, Picture Butte, Pincher Creek and Taber, Alberta.  We are welcoming all applications for the position of Director of Learning to commence August 1, 2019 or on a mutually agreeable date.

Holy Spirit Catholic Schools endeavors to promote a system of education which will meet the educational needs of young people at all levels in an atmosphere enlivened by the gospel values of Jesus Christ.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • This position will interest someone who is committed to the ideals and principles of Catholic Education and Catholic Schools;
  • Is a practising Catholic and expresses a commitment to the Catholic faith tradition;
  • Possess a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master level university degree in education or related fields;
  • Possess strong leadership, human relations, communication and supervisory skills;
  • Background and knowledge in curriculum, technology, assessment and instruction;
  • Background and knowledge in concept-based curriculum and professional development;
  • Division and/or school based administrative experience, including personnel supervision, budget, strategic planning, etc.
  • Is a lead learner, committed to lifelong learning;
  • Knowledge of Alberta Education protocols, School Act and Regulations.

The Position:

  • Leads the Learning Services portfolio
  • Facilitates and initiates professional development for portfolio;
  • Supervises and directs all Learning staff and programming;
  • Administers and manages budget allocations for Learning Services;
