TEMPORARY FRENCH AND INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION CONSULTANT - St. Basil Catholic Education Centre

We currently are looking to hire a temporary 1.0FTE French and International Education Consultant at St. Basil Catholic Education Centre in Lethbridge, commencing August 26, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020. Additional information for the transition into this position will be discussed with the successful applicant. This position requires someone able to provide the following:

  • Provide leadership for International Education and the Official Languages in Education Project for the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division.
  • Provide professional learning and guidance for staff leading to increased cultural sensitivity, cross-cultural skills and communication.
  • Represent the division on local, provincial and international committees that support and promote French Language and International Education.
  • Develop and promote cultural opportunities for students in French and International education for the division.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships through school, community and international partnerships.
  • Maintain and manage budgetary resources related to French Language and International programming.

You are a strong advocate for youth and their success in learning. You demonstrate by interest, lifestyle, and growth involvement within a Christ-centered working environment. Your participation within the Catholic faith is considered to be an asset.

Qualifications

  • Certified to teach in the province of Alberta;
  • B.ED. preferably in the area of Second Languages and / or International Education;
  • Fluent in the French Language in both spoken and written forms: Additional languages and experience abroad would be an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Francophone and International culture;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • A working understanding of French Immersion, French as a Second Language and International Education programs.
