Serving as an administrator and leader in a Catholic school is a special vocation that requires grace and talent. After their years of serving our school division, the following individuals have announced that they will be retiring at the end of this school year. Please join our communities in thanking and honouring them for their dedication to Catholic Education and our students.

 

Denise Kobza, Principal, St. Teresa of Calcutta School, Lethbridge

After graduating with a BA/BEd from the University of Saskatchewan, Denise Kobza started her teaching career in 1990, serving as a teacher at St. Mary School in Taber. She accepted a leadership role in 2005, becoming the Associate Principal at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lethbridge. In 2007, she moved to Father Leonard Van Tighem School, Lethbridge. Upon completing her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Lethbridge in 2011, she accepted the Principalship of Father Leonard Van Tighem School and continued to serve the school community there until 2018, when she moved to Our Lady of the Assumption School. Since 2020, Denise has provided leadership and direction as Principal of St. Teresa of Calcutta School.

 

Greg Kostiuk, Principal, Father Leonard Van Tighem School, Lethbridge

Greg KostiukA BA/BEd graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Greg Kostiuk began teaching in 1990. His service with the Holy Spirit School Division started in 1996, when he accepted an Associate Principal position at St. Francis Junior High School in Lethbridge. He went on to serve as Associate Principal at Children of St. Martha School, Lethbridge in 2008, Associate Principal at St. Joseph School, Coaldale in 2009, and Principal at Our Lady of the Assumption School in 2010. In 2015, Mr. Kostiuk completed his Masters of Education in Special Education from Flinders University in Australia. In 2018, he accepted the Principal position at Father Leonard Van Tighem School and continues to faithfully serve the school community there.

 

Gerry Muldoon, Principal, St. Paul School, Lethbridge

Gerry MuldoonSpanning his near 40-year education career, Gerry Muldoon has taught to a multitude of grades and ages - from the youngest elementary students to adults at the post-secondary level. After graduating with a BA in 1982, Gerry began teaching in Dublin, Ireland in 1984. He completed his Masters of Education in Educational Administration, as well as Adult and Continuing Education from Ulster University in 1991. Emigrating to Canada in 1994 with his family, Gerry began his career with Holy Spirit Catholic School Division in 2007, when he accepted a Principal position at St. Francis Junior High School in Lethbridge. In 2013, he moved to St. Paul School in Lethbridge, where he has served the community there for the past 10 years.
