Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are so excited to announce that we will be delivering a new program in your child’s class. Our Holy Spirit Mental Health Capacity Building Team has worked hard to develop a custom, evidence based program specific to Holy Spirit
Schools to support all students during this time of uncertainty.
“Breathe” is designed to teach students to identify the gifts we have within us; our heart, our brain, and our breath and use them as tools during difficult times. Evidence based programs that address emotional regulation, such as “Breathe”, have been shown to reduce stress, reduce emotional distress, promote calm feelings, and increase clarity and focus. The program will be facilitated by a Mental Health Capacity Building Team member and delivered in four, 30 minute sessions in your child’s classroom over the next few weeks where they will learn tools and strategies that will help in everyday life. Along with the program delivery, please watch for additional parent correspondence that will either come home with your child, or be available on the Holy Spirit social media pages. The parent correspondence will reiterate what the program is about, in the form of tips and tools to use at home as well. “Breathe” is available to all grade levels, with specific curriculums built for all age groups.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Wishing you a wonderful start to your school year.
Sincerely,
Shelly Kruger, Mental Health Capacity Building Program Manager
