Principal's Message

PRINCIPAL MESSAGE:    The Lord is My Shepherd

A Psalm of David.

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever."
    Psalm 23: 1-6

The entire staff of The Children of St. Martha Elementary School extend a warm welcome to all of our families, both new and returning. We are happy that you have chosen to be part of our wonderful school community. Each child at CSM is accepted for who they are and encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability. Our staff work hard to ensure that students are supported as they learn in a challenging, nurturing and loving 21st Century Learning environment. We look forward to working in partnership with you and St. Martha parish, to provide the very best in Catholic education. As we enter this year, our hopes are that, as a school community, we are mindful of the commitment to our Catholic Social teaching as we Grow in Faith Together (G.I.F.T).

We are pleased to welcome back our returning staff and introduce our new staff that will be joining our community:

Mrs. Laurie McIntosh will be teaching one of our Kindergarten classes. Her wealth of knowledge and love for teaching is truly evident (you can check her out at Twitter (@lauriesmcintosh).

Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Laurie McIntosh, Miss Megan Esser, Miss Nicole Dyrkacz, & Mrs. Jennifer Morrison to CSM and Holy Spirit!

Mrs. Allison Snopek  (gr. 3 teacher) and Mrs. Lindsay Nagata (Family First Facilitator) are also returning this fall from maternity leaves. We are excited to welcome back both of them.

We encourage and invite all parents to get to know The Children of St. Martha school community and to consider sharing your talent and expertise. We are always looking for additional people to serve on our school council. If you are interested in being part of our School Council this year please let us know at the office. Our School Council meetings take place monthly in our school library. We invite and welcome you all! The first School Council and Annual General meeting will be on Wednesday, September 19th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

On a personal note, it is my pleasure to be serving as Principal of The Children of St. Martha Elementary School. I wish all of our students and staff a very successful year of learning and personal growth as we continue on our great journey of Catholic education.

As we go forward into this school year, we are grateful as always, for the outstanding support that we receive from the families of our students. May God continue to watch over and guide us as we work together to provide exciting, challenging and successful learning opportunities for the students at The Children of St. Martha Elementary School.

Blessings to all of you,
