Re: Castle Mountain Ski Trip: Thursday, March 1, 2018 Grades 3-6
The Children of St. Martha Elementary School ski trip is planned for Thursday, March 1st, 2018 at Castle Mountain Ski Resort. Castle Mountain Ski Resort is located 1.5 hours west of Lethbridge. The GPS coordinates of the hill are 49.31635 N by 114.41011 W using google maps. A chartered bus will transport students and staff for this trip. We ask that all those attending make sure they are at the school approximately 15 minutes before the bus is scheduled to leave from the school parking lot. The bus will depart at 7:00 a.m. and return to CSM by 6:00 p.m.
The Castle school group program fulfills curriculum requirements in the areas of Physical Education and Health & Wellness while teaching crucial safety policies and procedures to young students. Castle Mountain Professionally Certified instructors are trained in the teaching and skill development techniques that will have even the most uncertain beginners gliding safely on the mountain. All students are divided into groups based on level of ability and experience. In these lesson groups, instructors will help students:
The school group program is designed to provide a fully supervised, safe and encouraging day on the slopes for students.
This ski field trip is optional therefore those students that do not plan to take part in the ski trip will be offered regular classes, that school day, if they do not choose to attend the trip. All waiver forms and payments must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the trip, in order for students to attend. The cost of this field trip is listed on the school form and all payments need to be made using School Cash Online. Those parents that need assistance while using School Cash online are asked to call our school office at 403-381-8110 and we will be happy to assist you. We require a minimum of 35 students, by the beginning of February, in order to avoid cancelling the trip.
