2017. The Edwin Parr Award recognizes excellence in teachers beginning their
"The selection process was challenging as we had outstanding first
year teachers to choose from," states Deputy Superintendent Brian Macauley. "Caitlyn
epitomizes what an excellent Catholic first year teacher should be. She
exhibits care and support for her students and has a strong desire to ensure
their success, going the extra mile for them. She develops professional
relationships with her students that enable her to set high academic and
behavioral expectations. She is positive, kind, creative, has great instincts,
and is a bundle of energy, always looking for ways to improve her craft as a
teacher and is not afraid to seek help when needed."
Principal Denise Kobza whole-heartedly agrees, "Caitlyn leads by
example both inside and outside the classroom and this influence has a positive
impact on everyone she meets. She is extremely hard working, well organized and
always willing to take on additional responsibilities. In addition to planning
her wedding on the September long weekend, Caitlyn took on planning for 5 new
classes with only a couple of weeks to prepare. She will not only get the job
done, but will also go above and beyond expectations. Caitlyn is truly a
deserving candidate for the Edwin Parr Award and we are blessed to have her as
part of our FLVT school community!"
Caitlyn notes that it is an honour to be nominated out of all of
the great talent within our division. "I am so blessed to work in a profession
where every day is a new challenge. I get to change the lives of students and I
can truly say, ‘I love what I do!'"
Ms. Kasprick's selection as an award nominee will be celebrated
along with the other nominees from Zone 6 (Livingstone Range, Westwind,
Palliser, Lethbridge Public, Horizon, Grasslands, Medicine Hat Public, Medicine
