CCH Teacher Semi-Finalist for 2015 Excellence in Teaching Award - Apr 30,2015

Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is pleased to announce that Rob Jetten, a teacher at Catholic Central High School, has been recognized as a semi-finalist for Alberta Education's 2015 Excellence in Teaching Award.

Quinn Sampson, the student who initiated Mr. Jetten's nomination, notes that she screamed with excitement when she heard the news.  "I'm glad that [the nomination] has gotten this far, Mr. Jetten is so deserving of this award.  He's a great teacher.  He knows his material and makes it easy for students to remember.  He also has such a connection with all of his students, both inside and outside of the classroom."

"I knew about the nomination, but didn't expect to see it go anywhere," states a surprised, but pleased, Jetten.  "It is a great honor to be nominated for this award.  I am very fortunate and grateful to work at a school that supports its staff and students to the level that CCHS does.  It has been a privilege to work with such amazing students."

Principal Carol Koran was not at all surprised at learning of Mr. Jetten's success, "I think it's a testament to his dedication, hard work and professionalism that he has been selected as a semi-finalist for this award.  Rob is simply a great model for excellence in teaching."

Mr. Jetten will join the Board at the May 27, 2015 Regular Meeting to be formally congratulated. Please join the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division in congratulating Mr. Jetten for being selected as a semi-finalist for Alberta Education' 2015 Excellence in Teaching Awards.  For more information about the awards, visit:
