The Board of Trustees is
pleased to announce that Mr. Ken Sampson has been appointed as the new
Superintendent of Schools and Chief Executive Officer for Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate Regional
Division No. 4, effective Monday, January 6, 2020.
Board Chair Judy
Lane comments, "Mr. Sampson was selected from a group of impressive candidates.
His values, work ethic, and commitment to student success, will unquestionably build
on the current strengths of the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division."
Ken has worked in
education for the past 33 years, gaining extensive experience in inclusive
education and leadership. He began his teaching career with Calgary Catholic
Schools, followed by further teaching and school-based administration with the
Bahamas Catholic School Board. He then
served Holy Spirit Catholic School Division in a variety of leadership capacities
from 2007 until 2015. Over the past four
years he has worked with Livingstone Range School Division No. 68, first as
Associate Superintendent of Programs and Services and currently as Deputy
Superintendent, overseeing Human Resources and Administrative Services.
"I am both
honoured and excited about the opportunity to return to the Holy Spirit
family," expresses Sampson. "Additionally, I'm also looking forward to the
transition time with current administration and working closely with the
dedicated Board of Trustees and a hard-working staff to further the great work
that has been undertaken by the division over the past years to collectively support
Ken and his lovely wife, Corinne, are parents to seven children, whom they support in all of their
various academic and athletic endeavours.
They are also active participants in their faith and members of the All Saints Parish community.
