New Associate Principals Announced for 2025/2026 School Year

The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is excited to announce the appointment of three new Associate Principals for our schools for the 2025/2026 school year. 

Mr. Jason Porteous will be taking on the role of Associate Principal for The Children of St. Martha School. Mr. Porteous has been teaching for 28 years throughout Alberta, graduating from the University of Alberta in 1997 with a Bachelor of Education and completed his Graduate Diploma and Master of Education degree with the University of Calgary in 2003 and 2004 respectively, He has served in multiple roles including as a teacher, a principal, a vice principal, and a division based coordinator and is currently the Vice Principal at County Central High School in Vulcan for the Palliser School Division.

Mrs. Cassie Skauge has accepted the role of Associate Principal for St. Francis Junior High School. Mrs. Skauge brings ten years of experience in education and holds both a Bachelor of Management and a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Inclusive Education from the University of Lethbridge. Since joining Holy Spirit Catholic School Division in 2015, she has served as a dedicated teacher at St. Mary School in Taber and, since 2017, at St. Francis Junior High. In addition to her classroom leadership, Ms. Skauge has contributed greatly to student life through coaching volleyball, slow pitch, and basketball, and is an active member of the Division’s First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Committee.

Ms. Kristy Gabruck is looking forward to taking on the role of Associate Principal at St. Teresa of Calcutta School in an official capacity for the 2025/2026 school year. Ms. Gabruck has been working in education since 2012 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Lethbridge in 2011. She has served in multiple capacities including substitute teacher, teacher and acting/temporary Associate Principal. Within the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division, she has taught at St. Francis Junior High School, Father Leonard Van Tighem School, and St. Teresa of Calcutta School, where she currently serves as Acting  Associate Principal.
