It was a week of reflection, joy, and deep community spirit as St. Michael’s School celebrated its graduating class, marking the culmination of 13 years of dedication and hard work. Embracing this year’s inspiring theme, “The Future is Bright,” the graduates officially stepped into their next chapter surrounded by the family, friends, and staff who supported them along the way. The theme was driven by Scripture, specifically Matthew 5:14-16:
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
The celebrations commenced on the evening of Friday, June 5, with a beautiful Cap & Gown Mass at St. Michael’s Church. The graduating class was joined by family members, school trustees, division leadership, teaching staff, and Holy Spirit Catholic School Division Superintendent Chantel Axani.
The moving liturgy was led by Fr. Marino Infante, parish priest at St. Michael's Church, alongside Deacon Tom O'Toole and Father Roy Jayamaha of St. Paul Church in Brocket. Together, they delivered a deeply resonant experience for all in attendance.
Events resumed Saturday afternoon, June 6, at the Pincher Creek Community Hall. The day began with inspiring remarks and a recognition ceremony at 2:00 p.m., leading into an evening banquet at 5:30 p.m.
During the ceremony, Trustee Blake Dolan took the stage to address the graduates. Keeping the tone light and engaging, he shared personal anecdotes and uplifting humor that brought smiles to the crowd. However, his core message carried profound wisdom for the road ahead:
“The future is bright, but sometimes the darkness will come into your life as well. With prayers and support, you will always come back to the brightness.”
Principal Karen Schmidt added to the sentiment with an inspiring send-off:
“As you step out of these school doors for the last time, on the last day, remember the foundation you built here. Remember the staff that just love you, just the way you are. Take those smarts, that artistic vision, that athletic grit, and that beautiful, unifying faith, and go make your mark on the world. Don't be afraid to take a few risks, stir up a little trouble when it matters, and always remember your roots. Class of 2026, I love you! Go out there, Rise Above, and Inspire Greatness!”
Congratulations to the St. Michael’s School Class of 2026! May your faith, community, and bright spirits continue to guide you toward incredible achievements.
