It was a day of giving at Catholic Central High School and the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division on Wednesday, December 13th, as students and staff pitched in to put together the 2023 Santa’s Anonymous Christmas Hampers.

This year’s Santa’s Anonymous was led by CCH’s Associate Principal, Mr. New, who had multiple staff members and over 40 students helping to collect and put together the hampers. The day began with an Advent Mass and Blessing of the Hampers before the staff and students worked tirelessly to get the hampers ready for families.

Santa’s Anonymous began back in the 2000-2001 school year by the now retired Mr. Wikenheiser and principal-at-the-time and current Holy Spirit Catholic School Division Board Chair, Dr. Mombourqutte. The project began with helping 20-25 families with Christmas hampers filled with food and presents for the Christmas season. Santa’s Anonymous started at Catholic Central High School and has since expanded to become a division-wide initiative that helps support close to 60 families within the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division with donations coming from all of our schools as well as the generous support of donors from across southern Alberta. Over the past 24 years, $600,000 in kind has been raised to help feed and bring joy to around 1,500 families.

A big thanks goes out to everyone who donated and helped in any way to make the “2023 Santa’s Anonymous” fundraiser a huge success!
